Blackline Building LLC was founded by Wilmington local, Sam Matus. As an unlimited general contractor, Blackline Building is afforded the allowance to bring just about any building concept imaginable to life. We are equipped to design new custom and spec construction homes, and home renovations and remodeling such dated kitchens, all while maintaining outstanding customer service and master craftsmanship. And while our team have garnered a collective average of over 20 years of industry experience gaining expert level knowledge and skills, as a company, we are relatively new, having been established in 2015.
We strive every day to be the best at we do. Our goal is to establish ourselves as one of the premier builders in Wilmington, NC, and the surrounding areas, and fortunately, with the projects we have completed, we believe the future looks brighter in our local communities, and industry, aesthetically speaking.

Sam has acquired extensive experience with over 20 years in the building industry and has gained a mastery level of knowledge and skillset when it comes to new custom and spec construction homes, and renovation and remodeling services. In 2015, Sam set out to form Blackline Building, a construction firm that would stand on top as the Wilmington, NC, and surrounding areas’ preeminent builder, demonstrating an ethic of professionalism, honesty, and quality, which are values he respects about the work his company produces, and the industry they serve, after seeing many instances where other firms were lacking in integrity.
